Fantasy Football: Week 9 DFS

by: Jared Leonard

Again, we’re focusing on the main slate this weekend. With a lot of teams on byes again this week, we are looking for the best matchups in a small player pool. I may make some late adds tomorrow morning, so make sure to check back.

Quarterback:

Russell Wilson: He’s the hottest QB in the NFL and at home again. Look for another 300+ yards passing and at least 2 TD performance. * Don’t let the weather scare you off, Wilson is a great bad weather QB.

Dak Prescott: I love his matchup against the Chiefs and I feel this one will be a shoot out.

Drew Brees: Brees is always a solid option when at home. My only concern is that this has become a pretty balanced offense and Brees isn’t throwing the ball as much as he use to. But the Tampa secondary is awful and Drew should take advantage.

Alex Smith: He’s been a solid option all year in fantasy. He faces a bad Cowboys defense and again, I feel this game will be a shoot out.

Kirk Cousins: His O-line is banged up but Seattle’s pass rush isn’t great and Washington will probably be playing from behind in this one. Which means, Cousins will be throwing the ball. * Weather could be a concern for Cousins.

Running Backs:

Ezekiel Elliot: Kansas City is giving up 131 rushing yards per game. However, even with the great matchup, Zeke is pricey.

Kareem Hunt: Another pricey option but has a great matchup against Dallas.

Todd Gurley: In play every week regardless of the matchup. Luckily for us, he’s going up against a Giants’ defense in shambles.

Mark Ingram: He has been awesome since Peterson left and he gets to run all over a terrible Tampa defense.

Christian McCaffrey: He’s the real reason why they traded Benjamin. He is going to see the extra targets and gets a Falcons’ defense that can’t cover running backs.

Alvin Kamara: Kamara and Ingram have been a great 1-2 punch. They both stay very productive this week and are both worth playing.

Lamar Miller: Has a great matchup against a bad Colts D, but with no Watson, Colts will stack the box.

Doug Martin: Love the matchup and he is getting more involved each week.

Adrian Peterson: I hate AP but he has a great matchup against San Fran. I won’t be playing him. So,use at your own risk.

DeMarco Murray: I think he is going to have a big second half and it starts this week against a Baltimore team getting gashed on the ground.

Carlos Hyde- Great matchup against Arizona and Hyde has been very productive this season.

Orleans Darkwa- My sleeper pick at running back this week. Has a great matchup and the Giants should be able to keep this one close playing at home. I’m thinking 75 total yards and a TD this week.

Wide Receiver:

Mike Evans: Faces the Saints D this week and should get the volume to produce points.

Michael Thomas: Tampa’s secondary is awful and this will be the week Thomas shows off his full talents.

Doug Baldwin: I love the Seattle passing game this week.

Tyreek Hill: This game will be a shoot out and Hill will have a big role in putting up points.

Dez Bryant: See Dak Prescott.

Demaryius Thomas: He has been disappointing so far this season. But, he gets a QB change, which I think benefits him and I’m expecting a better second half. Philadelphia has been giving up 257 pass yards per game and Thomas will take advantage.

Tedd Ginn: See Michael Thomas above.

T.Y. Hilton: He is a tournament play only. He has a great matchup against Houston and is priced affordably.

Paul Richardson/Tyler Lockett: Again, I love the Seattle passing attack this week.

Robert Woods: Has had at least 6 targets a game since week 3, those targets will continue and Woods should reach value this week.

Tight Ends:

Zach Ertz: Denver can’t cover the tight end and Ertz has been the best tight end in the NFL this season. * Not playing!

Jimmy Graham: Love Seattle’s passing attack. Could score multiple TD’s again this week.

Jason Witten: See Dez and Dak above.

Jack Doyle: Doyle has been the most consistent offensive player for the Colts this season. He has a great matchup and he will get his targets.

Tyler Higbee: Super risky play but gets to face a Giants’ defense that has given up a TD to the tight end position every game this season.

Defense:

Jaguars

Seahawks

Eagles

Panthers

Colts
