Andy Dalton is a must start today against the Colts defense.
It is week one of the fantasy football season. Here are five players to start and five players to sit.
Play Em!
1. Andy Dalton, QB, Bengals: The Colts defense could be the worst in the NFL. We won’t advise you to start Dalton often but you should today.
2. James White, RB, Patriots: White has had some good games statistically against the Texans in recent years. Expect him to get a heavy work load today with the Patriots using their backs a lot in the passing game.
3. Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions: It is hard to tell how the Lions will be offensively this season but I like this opening match up for Stafford against a vulnerable Jets secondary.
4. Stefon Diggs & Adam Thielen, WR’s, Vikings: The 49ers secondary is suspect outside of Richard Sherman. Look for Kirk Cousins to target both Diggs and Thielen early and often.
5. James Connor, RB, Steelers: If you have Le’Veon Bell and you handcuffed him with Connor, start Connor. If nothing else, you’ll get 50 yards and a touchdown out of him.
Sit Em!
1. Derek Carr, QB, Raiders: Carr will have his hands full against arguably the most talented defense in the league. If you have a suitable back up with a quality match up, start them.
2. Andrew Luck, QB, Colts: The Bengals front seven can generate consistent pressure and we don’t know what Luck can do after being out for almost two years. I would wait another week before I started Luck.
3. 49ers Defense: The Niners back seven could be in for a long day against the Vikings improved passing game today.
4. Amari Cooper, WR, Raiders: Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters will make a lot of receivers irrelevant. This week it’s Cooper’s turn.
5. Kerryon Johnson, RB, Lions: The Lions backfield situation is one to avoid right now. I would hold off on starting Johnson until I got a better feel for the carries distribution.
