Fantasy Football: DFS Plays for Week 5

Here are positional plays for week five. There are several intriguing match ups this week.

Quarterbacks:
Aaron Rodgers- The Dallas defense is awful and are in the bottom 3rd of the league in pass defense. They got picked apart by Jared Goff last week, so you can only imagine what Rodgers will do to them. This game should shoot out.

Ben Roethlisberger– His road/home splits are on complete opposites ends of the spectrum, you would think that it was two different people. Well, he’s home this week, and when Big Ben is home, you play him. Jacksonville has a good defense but I don’t see that stopping this powerful offense.

Dak Prescott– Dallas isn’t running the ball like they have in the past and Dak is throwing the ball 5 to 10 more times a game this year. Green Bay’s corners are not very good and their secondary has given up 8 pass touchdowns already this year and QB’s are are completing almost 66% of their passes against them.

Eli Manning– This offense looks a lot better with Beckham back and healthy. Eli has averaged over 25 fantasy points the last 2 weeks. Their run game stinks and they know getting the ball into their best players hands, means throwing the ball.

Philip Rivers– He has a good matchup against the Giants D this week and if Melvin Gordon is still a little banged up, look for Rivers to throw the ball more.

Jay Cutler- Ok, he’s not very good, but he does have a good matchup and the weapons to have a big game. He is a tournament play only and I’m not sure if I could get on board with putting him in my lineup, unless I was playing 10 or more lineups.

Brian Hoyer– The Colts defense is bad and Hoyer has been known to have huge games. Based this matchup, Hoyer could be in line for one of those days. He is a tournament play only.

Jacoby Brissett– The Colts vs. 49ers game has the potential to shootout. The matchup for Brissett is a great one this week.

Joe Flacco- I know, he hasn’t been very good so far this year. Oaklands defense sucks and Flacco is due for a big game. He is my super sneaky tournament play this week.

Running Backs:
Le’Veon Bell– Jacksonville is giving up 165 yards per game on the ground. This means big things for Bell and I think this is the week this Steelers offense puts up huge numbers.

Todd Gurley– He has been so good this year. I don’t care about match up, I think you could play him every week with no worries.

Marshawn Lynch– He has not been very productive so far this season, but that may all change this week. He is going up against a Ravens defense that won’t have their best defensive tackle again this week and has been gushed on the ground without him. Also, with EJ Manuel starting at QB for the Raiders, look for Lynch to get a ton of carries.

Demarco Murray– He will be low owned. I know Henry is there too but Murray is the better player and I think he breaks out this week.

Carlos Hyde– Facing a bad Colts defense that is giving up over 100 yards per game on the ground.

Bilal Powell- Has been very productive the last 2 weeks and this week, he gets to face Cleveland. Could be another big day for Powell.

Aaron Jones– The closer we get to Sunday, the more it looks like Montgomery won’t play. This bodes well for Jones this week. Plus, Dallas’ defense sucks.

Duke Johnson– Crowell has been awful and Johnson has capitalized on his opportunities. His touches should increase and in a PPR format, he should easily get you double digit points.

Cheap Options:

Wayne Gallman

Andre Ellington

Thomas Rawls/Eddie Lacy- Pick your poison, but facing a bad Rams run defense. I’m leaning Lacy.

Wide Receivers:
Jordy Nelson– Has been a stud so far this year. Now he gets to face off against a terrible Dallas defense, expect another big day out of Jordy.

Antonio Brown– A lot of people are afraid of attacking the Jaguars pass defense and are going to be off the Steelers passing attack. But, the Jaguars have’t faced a good passing attack team yet this year and the Steelers are at home where their offense puts up big numbers. Brown was fired up last week because he didn’t get the ball enough. Brown will have a big game.

Dez Bryant– Dak loves targeting Dez and if the targets keep up, Dez will produce. Plus he gets to go up against a mediocre Packers pass defense.

Devante Parker- The Tennessee pass defense is awful and Parker should take advantage.

Larry Fitzgerald– He is so good and Palmer needs to get him the ball more. The Eagles have struggled defending against the pass and Fitz should have a nice day.

Jarvis Landry– See Devante Parker above.

T.Y. Hilton- The 49ers defense isn’t very good and Hilton is developing a connection with Brissett. I think this is one of the highest scoring games of the week and that means Hilton will have is part.

Jaron Brown– Each week he is becoming a bigger part of the Cardinals’ passing attack and I expect that to continue. Should be able to take advantage of a poor Eagles’ pass defense.

Pierre Garcon– Again, I have a feeling this game will shoot out and Garcon is coming back to Indianapolis. It’s looking like it good be a big day for Pierre.

Tight Ends
Delanie Walker– Has a great matchup against the Dolphins, but make sure Mariota is playing or don’t pay up for Walker.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins– He’s cheap and facing the Cleveland Browns. For the price, I’m confident he returns at 3x his value. This is where I’m going at tight end this Sunday.

Chargers Tight Ends– They have a great matchup against a Giants defense that has been getting torched by the tight end all season. However, good luck choosing whether Gates or Henry has the bigger game.

Defense
Bills– Love the matchup against a bad Bengals offense.

Eagles– Arizona is always good for a few turnovers a game and they are on dimensional without David Johnson.

Ravens- Facing EJ Manuel, that’s all we need to know.
