the BC coaching staff was in Vegas right now, everyone would be crowding around the roulette table trying to piggy back off their heater.
It’s not often that so many national recruits flock to Chestnut Hill, but the commitments have been coming in fast and furious these last few weeks following successful OV weekends.
There are two official visit weekends left before June wraps up and the Eagles will be welcoming nine more guys onto campus this weekend. One of the names you should recognize as he’s already committed to Bill O’Brien and the new regime while making quite an impact on the field for Catholic Memorial.
Here’s the full list with a little bit of background on each one…
Mekhi Dodd – Catholic Memorial (RB)
Dodd’s only offer was from BC after a knee injury a year ago scared a lot of programs off. Dodd committed back in May and baring any set backs this summer, should be in store for one final big season with the Knights. Dodd is just one of many to slide through the CM to BC pipeline that’s been heavily used in recent years and could e a real weapon in the backfield for the Eagles starting in 2026.
Nolan James Jr. – De Paul Catholic (Wayne, NJ; RB)
Another 2025 back that’s already committed to the Eagles, James Jr. is listed at 5’11” 195 lbs. and has been verbally committed since December. James Jr. had quite a big of interest from some legitimate programs including Akron, Buffalo, BC, UConn, Kent State, Liberty, UMass, Minnesota and Syracuse.
Jacorey Watson – Shadow Creek (Perland, TX; WR)
After getting Florida wide receiver Semaj Fleming to recently commit over teams like Georgia and Georgia Tech among many others, Watson could be the next biggest receiver the Eagles have been able to land in quite some time, Watson currently holds offers from BC, Arizona State, Colorado, Duke, Houston, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Oregon, Missouri, Sam Houston State, Texas, Texas Tech, UTSA, Washington State and USC. If this staff can ultimately get him to pick little ol’ Chestnut Hill over some of those programs, well then something special really is brewing.
Kuol Kuol – Centerville (Centerville, OH; OT)
O-line you would sure seem like a perfect fit for this big guy listed at 6’6″ 260 lbs. already. Kuol would be a nice addition to the legacy of O-line you and has quite a bit of interest from some pretty big schools. Kuol currently holds offers from Akron, Army, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Iowa State, Kent State, Miami (OH), Purdue, Toledo and Western Michigan. There’s also been interest shown in him by Notre Dame.
Cole Cogwheel – John Muir (Pasadena, CA; EDGE)
Another guy from across the country that would be a home run for this staff if they’re able to lure him to Chestnut Hill. Listed at 6’3″ 240 lbs, he could be an inside or outside guy depending on what their vision is for him. Either way, he’s pretty heavily recruited with offers from BC, BYU, Colorado State, San Diego State and Cornell so far with that list bound to grow.
Griffin Collins – Worcester Academy (Worcester, MA; ATH)
Another local guy who’s already committed to the Eagles’ new regime, Collins verbally committed back in March. Listed at 6’4″ and 220lbs., Collins could technically play both ways if BC really wanted him to. Collins’ offers included BC, Brown, Columbia, Penn and Syracuse. The WR/DB/S/LB has done a little bit of everything for WA and should be in store for a big senior season. It’ll be interesting to see where this staff sees him fitting once he gets to Chestnut Hill.
Charleston Coldon – Althoff (Belleville, IL; CB)
A 6’1″ 190lbs. corner out of Illinois, Coldon’s gotten some looks from some big name programs and would help add to the DB room next season if he decides to become an Eagle. Currently, Colton holds Ofers from BC, Ball State, Illinois State, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville and Miami of Ohio with some interest from North Dakota State as well.
TJ Green – Reynoldsburg (Reynoldsburg, OH; DB/ATH)
Another guy that’s already committed to BC, the 5’11” 180lbs. speedster committed to the Eagles back in April during the early stages of the O’Brien era. Green holds offers from BC, Akron, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan and Kent State. If BC ever wants him to play WR he could probably transition seamlessly at that level, he’s done both in high school and at times is a highlight reel waiting to happen. He’s also an elite track athlete too.
Erik Schmidt – Marquette (Milwaukee, WI; K)
That’s right, this kid’s a good enough kicker that BC wants him here for an official visit. With the kicker job still in question for BC heading into this training camp, one has to assume it might be next year too, so Schmidt could end up being a household name sooner rather than later if he chooses Chestnut Hill. He’s only got offers from BC and Missouri, but Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Wisconsin have all shown significant interest. This could end up being one of the bigger gets for BC if they’re able to lure him away from the hometown Badgers or one of the other major programs.
