One month to go.
Once again, the postseason picture became clearer for a few teams after Week 10 while others are now simply playing out the string.
Here’s how the D1 landscape currently shakes out around New England:
1. Harvard (7-0) – Another week, another fairly dominant performance for the Crimson. Harvard is 13th in the latest AFCA Coaches Poll and three wins away from the Ivy League title, as well as the league’s first ever FCS playoff berth. Last-place Columbia on the road Friday night is up next.
2. Rhode Island (7-2) – Rams had a bye and still got back into the AFCA Top 10, now tied for 10th. Rhody heads out on the road to face 4-5 Elon this Saturday.
3. UConn (6-3) – Jim Mora has the Huskies back in a bowl game for the third time in four years. It’s all house money from here as Duke comes to visit this weekend.
4. Yale (5-2) – Bulldogs took care of Columbia to keep pace a game behind the Crimson. Yale heads down to Brown on Saturday.
5. CCSU (6-3) – It wasn’t pretty, but the Blue Devils beat LIU 10-7 and remained atop the conference (4-0). Stonehill heads to town Saturday.
6. Dartmouth (5-2) – Lost 31-10 to Harvard. Big Green are now two games behind the Crimson, so it’ll take a lot to get another title. Princeton comes to Hanover Saturday.
7. Maine (5-4) – That’s five straight after beating Stony Brook. Jordan Stevens has the Black Bears at 4-1 in the conference, one game out of first with a game against 2-7 Hampton this weekend on the road. URI at home looms next weekend…
8. New Hampshire (5-4) – After a bye, it’s the biggest game of the year for the Wildcats coming up on the road against No. 6 Monmouth, who is also in first place in the CAA, two games ahead of the Wildcats.
9. Sacred Heart (6-3) – Probably a bit tougher than the Pios expected, but still got a win over New Haven. SHU has Virginia Lynchburg at home this weekend.
10. Brown (3-4) – Bears lost to Penn last weekend 28-21, dropping to 0-4 in the Ivy League. Yale visits on Saturday.
11. Merrimack (3-5) – Warriors took Colgate to overtime, but fell 23-20. Three games left starting with New Haven on the road this weekend.
12. New Haven (4-4) – Chargers made it close early against Sacred Heart, but lost to their new in-state rivals. Saturday’s game against Merrimack is the last of the year to cap off New Haven’s inaugural D1 campaign.
13. Stonehill (3-6) – Skyhawks lost at home to Robert Morris, probably ending any hopes for the NEC title. Tough test against CCSU on the road up next.
14. Bryant (2-7) – Bulldogs got blown out by that Monmouth wagon on the road. Tough year continues with a winnable game on the road against Albany this weekend.
15. Holy Cross (1-8) – Frustrating continued for the Crusaders with a 21-13 loss to Lafayette. Doesn’t get any easier with a trip to Lehigh on Saturday.
16. Boston College (1-8) – Once again, they were competitive, but couldn’t make enough plays in what’s been a stunning season week-by-week. Three games left starting with The Red Bandanna game at home against SMU on Saturday.
17. UMass (0-8) – The whole world gets to watch UMass on Tuesday night coming off a bye. MACtion on the road against Akron…
