Nick Chubb came back in a big way yesterday against North Carolina.
Dime package is ten thoughts I have from the week that was in college football.
1. It doesn’t matter who quarterbacks Alabama, the machine keeps running. FYI. Jalen Hurts is Bama’s quarterback moving forward. I don’t care what Nick Saban says.
2. LSU lost to Wisconsin yesterday because they don’t have a quarterback and they can’t throw the ball. Yes, I blame Brendon Harris.
3. Speaking of teams that don’t have a quarterback, Auburn doesn’t have one either. Gus Malzahn needs to figure who will be his guy and stick with him. If it’s Shawn White, so be it! He’s the guy!
4. Why would Oklahoma schedule a game against Houston, in Houston? The Sooners got burned badly yesterday. Not only did their national title hopes take a hit, but so did Baker Mayfield’s Heisman hopes.
5. Dan Mullen and Pat Fitzgerald must be sick to their stomachs after their teams lost by one point to two teams they are better than.
6. I guess Nick Chubb is healthy after running over all Notth Carolina to the tune of 222 yards.
7. I know Texas A&M fans are all excited after yesterday’s OT win over UCLA but they need to temper their excitement. It’s UCLA! When was the last time the Bruins won a big game on the road?
8. Florida got a pretty good scare last night from UMass. Look, the Gators will play good defense all season. The offense will be a problem.
9. Tennessee was lucky to survive on Thursday night against Appalachian State. The Mountainerrs are good but I think the score was more of an indication of just how overrated Tennessee is.
10. Stanford had a nice win on Friday night over Kansas State. Christian McCaffery made his impact felt but he was too much of the offense. The Cardinal will need to get more out of their passing game.
