College Football: Week 10 Top 25 Picks

I’m all about Kirby Smart and the Dawgs these days.

Last week was meh for me. I need a bounce back week.

No. 7 Penn State at No. 24 Michigan State (+8.5): Give me Michigan State all day as an eight and a half point dog. I think Michigan State will beat Penn State and send them reeling to their second loss.

No. 9 Wisconsin at Indiana (+12.5): I am going to take the Hoosiers as a two touchdown underdog. Tom Allen’s bunch plays great defense and that defense will keep Indiana in the game. They will not win but they will make life tough in Alex Honribrook and company.
No. 14 Auburn (-15) at Texas A&M: Give me Auburn all day. A&M plays zero defense, especially at home. They’ve gotten lit up at Kyle Field.
UMass (+28) at No. 16 Mississippi State: UMass is well coached and has been playing much better of late. Don’t forget, the Minutemen almost beat Tennessee earlier this season in Knoxville. They can hang with the Bulldogs.
South Carolina at No. 1 Georgia (-24): I am drinking the Kirby Smart Kool-Aid big time. I don’t think Georgia will lose in the regular season unless they lose in the SEC Championship game. South Carolina has improved but they can’t hang with Georgia for four quarters. I am taking the Dawgs as a prohibitive favorite.
Wake Forest at No. 3 Notre Dame (-14): Wake Forest will give the Irish some problems early but Notre Dame will wear them on as the game goes on. Put your money on the fighting Leprechauns.
No. 4 Clemson at No. 20 NC State (+8): I am going to put my money on the Wolf Pack as a home dog. I don’t think they will win but they will keep it close thanks to their talented defense. Clemson has been shaky on the road this season. That should also factor into your decision.
No. 6 Ohio State at Iowa (+18): There is no way Ohio State doesn’t experience a letdown after last week. I don’t think Iowa will win this game but they will play well and put a scare into the Buckeyes. The Hawkeyes are always tough at home. They beat third ranked Michigan at home last season.
No. 15 Iowa State at West Virginia (-2.5): The Fighting Matt Campbell’s will take the show on the road. Morgantown can be a tough place to play but there is something special about this Iowa State team. They are unflappable. I think they win this game.
No. 21 Stanford at No. 25 Washington State (-2): The Cardinal quarterback problems are concerning. As much as I like David Shaw and the Stanford program, it is hard to pick them in this one. I cannot see them going into Pullman and winning a game with either one of their quarterbacks. They should have lost to Oregon State last week.
No. 5 Oklahoma (+3) at No. 11 Oklahoma State: Something tells me Oklahoma will come to play in this game. They need a resume building win and beating their rivals on the road would definately enhance their portfolio.

Texas at No. 8 TCU (-7): TCU needs a bounce back win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Texas will be without Sam Ehringer so Kenny Hill and company should take care of business. -7 is a fair number by the way.
No. 18 UCF at SMU (+14): This will be a shootout but Central Florida wins those types of games and they win them big.
No. 19 LSU (+21) at No. 2 Alabama: Bama has been virtually unstoppable at home but something tells me Coach O will have the Tigers ready to play. LSU is playing good football right now and they hang with the Tide. -21 is too rich for me to take Bama.
No. 13 Virginia Tech at No. 10 Miami (+2.5): The Hokies will present a stiff challenge for the Canes. I know Miami is playing well but something tells me that Virginia Tech will ruin the party for the Canes.

Oregon at No. 12 Washington (-18.5): Give me the Huskies at this number all day. You get the sense that Oregon has thrown in the towel on Willie Taggert and his staff. The Huskies should roll at home.
No. 22 Arizona (+7.5) at No. 17 USC: USC’s defense has been springing leaks of late. I have a feeling Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate is going to have a big game and the Wildcats will pull off the upset. Screw it! I’m putting my money on Rich Rod’s boys.
