College Football: Dime Package for Week 9

The College football playoff rankings were revealed for the first time last night. The only surprise in my opinion was Notre Dame. Here are my thoughts on the rankings and week 9 in college football.

1.I know the Irish haters out there don’t think Notre Dame should be in the college football playoff but i respectfully disagree. Notre Dame has been impressive thus far this season with a one point loss to Georgia being the only blemish on their schedule. They are physical on both sides of the ball and balanced offensively. I have said it for weeks. Notre Dame is legit!

2. What the hell has happened to Florida State? Getting blown out by a mediocre Boston College team is inexcusable. I hate to say it but it looks like the 2017 Noles have quit on Jimbo Fisher. Don’t give me the age thing. They are not that young.

3. Ohio State’s come from behind win over Penn State kept their playoff hopes alive and all but ended Penn State’s.

4. Jim McElwain’s dismissal at Florida is one of the most bizarre situations I have seen in all my years of covering college football. He was basically terminated for making up a story. Why would you lie and make up a story? You are a grown man! It makes no sense.

5. Speaking of coaches, Iowa State’s Matt Campbell will be one of the most sought after coaches in the country after this season. ISU beat Oklahoma three weeks ago and dropped TCU this past weekend. Don’t be surprised if Florida and Texas A&M among others reach out to Campbell.

6. Miami won again but spare me with this nonsense that they should be in the college football playoff after week one. They haven’t beaten anybody!

7. Remember when Washington State played defense? Yeah…not anymore. They gave up 58 to Arizona this past weekend. I was getting nervous there for a while. Mike Leach teams don’t usually play defense.

8. I cannot say I am surprised that Houston beat South Florida. I never quite bought the Bulls.

9. USC’s bounce back trouncing of Arizona State was nice but unless they win a Pac-12 title and a couple of teams in front of them slip up, they have no shot at the college football playoff.

10. We are into my favorite part of the college football season. MAC-tion baby!!!!
