College Football: Dime Package for Week 4

By John Sarianides

1.Remember when the Vandy faithful were chanting we want Bama? Well…they got Bama. 59-0 Tide.

2. Boston College showed some fight against Clemson for three quarters and then the cream rose to the top and the Tigers pulled away in the fourth quarter.

3. Silly me. I thought Mississippi State might be a player in the SEC West and then Georgia whacked them and reality set in.

4. Say what you will about Kevin Sumlin’s situation at Texas A&M but beating Arkansas was a big win for him and the program. He needed that.

5. No offense to the UMass faithful but Tennessee only beating them 17-13 is a joke. Folks down on Rocky Top cannot be happy with Butch Jones or his team.

6. We knew Deondre Francois was a big part of Florida State’s offense but I don’t think anyone thought he was the whole team! The Noles are lost without him.

7. I knew it was only a matter of time before Oklahoma State’s bubble burst. I like Mike Gundy but I have never felt any of his team’s were national title contenders.

8. Michigan got off to a sluggish start against Purdue thanks mostly to quarterback Wilton Speights leaving the game with an injury. They were able however to pull away in the fourth quarter because they wore down the Boilermakers.

9. Give Baylor coach Matt Rhule credit. He and his staff got their team ready to play and they put a scare into Oklahoma.

10. Did we write off the Irish too soon after their one point loss to Georgia? Since then, the Irish have blown out Boston College and Michigan State. I think we might have.
