1.So much for Clemson taking a step back after winning a national championship huh? They demolished Louisville and made a statement in the process. Kelly Bryant and the Tigers officially the favorites to win the ACC and get back to the college football playoff.
2. USC proved that they are a legit national title contender with their comeback win over Texas. Quarterback Sam Darnold did not play great but he made some key throws down the stretch that enabled the Trojans to tie and later win the game.
3. Speaking of that game, Texas coach Tom Herman has a lot to be proud of. The Longhorns defense played great against USC and freshmen quarterback Sam Ehringer played like a senior down the stretch. The Horns are young but you can the change happening. They are buying in.
4. Norte Dame ambushed B.C thanks to quarterback Brandon Wimbush who ran all over the Eagles. The pressure is off of Brian Kelly. At least for this week.
5. The Michigan Wolverines once again struggled at home, pulling away late from Air Force. The defense played well but the offense struggled early on and that falls on quarterback Wilton Speights whose accuracy issues are really starting to impact the Michigan offense.
6. If you didn’t think quarterback Nick Fitzgerald and Mississippi State are for real, do you now? I would think a 30-7 drubbing of LSU at home would get your attention.
7. Here I was thinking that UCLA might actually be a sleeper in the PAC-12 South. Then, they lost a shootout to Memphis. The “Rosen One” is human after all.
8. Are people still on the Wyoming band wagon or has that ship sailed? Just curious. Everyone and their mother was tongue bathing Josh Allen and the Cowboys three weeks ago.
9. Can we all agree that Mason Rudolph is the Heisman front runner now. Not for nothing but Lamar Jackson looked human against Clemson.
10. If Butchie Jones thought his seat was hot last week, he is really about to feel the heat. You cannot lose a game on the last play of the game! That’s inexcusable! The Florida loss falls on Jones and his coaches.
