According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Patriots guard Cole Strange tore his patellar tendon last season and that is why he has been out of action since the injury.
Strange suffered in the injury in his left knee. As a result, Patriots coach Jerod Mayo deemed Strange “month to month” when he met with the media during OTA’s.
The Patriots repped second year guard Sidy Sow at left guard this spring. Sow played primarily right guard last season but he played left guard in college and the transition seemed to go well. Sow’s versatility is a big reason why the team drafted him. It has come in handy thus far.
Expect Strange to begin the season on the PUP list. If we do see him, it will not be until the middle of the season at the earliest.
The Patriots have enough depth to absorb the injury but it is still disappointing nonetheless as the 2022 first round pick continues to struggle to stay healthy and be consistent.
