On Tuesday, Brown Football announced its incoming recruiting class. 28 new faces will be on campus in August for fall camp.
As usual, James Perry and his staff did a terrific job recruiting nationally and bringing in some terrific young men.
In a statement released by the University, Perry talked about the class and how excited the staff is to get them on campus.
“I am excited to welcome our 28 student-athletes to Brown,” Perry said. “I look forward to them coming to campus and know they will make great additions to the University and our locker room. Recruiting is a team effort, so I would like to extend a thank you and congratulations to our entire staff for their efforts in recruiting another amazing group. I look forward to seeing them on campus in August and keep building on the momentum we’ve created the last few years.”

Class Breakdown: Perry and his staff addressed several needs on the roster with this class. The offensive line needed an infusion of youth and depth and Brown added that. Yates and Wheless could see time as freshmen as back ups.
The defensive line and secondary were also addressed. Baldic, Lee, Sukkar, Schmitz and Marsh could all get rotational reps reps this season. All will be expected to step up and play as sophomores.
The Bears also added some depth in the secondary, especially at cornerback. Bandy and Bello are both Florida natives and terrific athletes with good coverage and ball skills.
The Bears loaded up for the future offensively. With Jake Willcox and Nate Lussier graduating after next season, Brown brought in two quarterbacks in this class. Nolan Lazor was an All-conference and academic all-state honoree in both football and basketball at Vernon Hills High School in Illinois. Will Currid played at New York powerhouse Archbishop Stepinac and graduated as the program’s all-time leader in pass completions, attempts and passing yards. He completed 519 of 780 passes for 1,926 yards and 69 touchdowns over his four-year career.
The wide receiver and tight end positions also got some reinforcements. Mansfield’s Trevor Foley could be the next big X receiver, following in the footsteps of Hayes Sutton, Graham Walker and Ty Pezza. Preston Hill was a three-time Prep Nationals All-American and was named the Founders League Player of the Year in 2023. He will make plays out of the slot and in the return game.
The Bears also beefed up the tight end position with Rivers product Griffin Schutte who is a big target at 6-5 235.
Perry and his staff did a great job recruiting New England as always adding Baldic, Childs, Foley, Sukkar, Hill, Schmitz and Schutte.
