Breaking down the 2025 CAA schedules

The CAA released it’s 2025 football schedules on Wednesday. Here is a look at who Bryant, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island are playing and what we think of each schedule.

Bryant

Schedule highlights: Bulldogs have a solid schedule. They open the season on the road at New Mexico State. Two years ago they played at UNLV so venturing out west is nothing new for Chris Merritt’s squad. Week two features a visit a visit to UMass. The Minutemen have struggled with local FBS opponents of late but that could change with new coach Joe Harasymiak.

The Bulldogs also have road games to Campbell, URI, Albany and Stony Brook. The home slate features games against Division 2 Bentley, Towson, rival Brown, Maine and New Hampshire. All good match ups. After a 2-10 season, improvement is a must. This schedule is tough but the Bulldogs should bounce back.

Maine

Schedule highlights: Tough road slate to start with games at Liberty, William & Mary and Georgia Southern. The Black Bears sandwich a game in there against Stonehill. After a tough home game against North Carolina AT&T, Maine hits the road at Bryant and Merrimack for two road games that will be battles. With only five home games, Maine will need to prove that they can be road warriors if they want to contend in the CAA. Elon and URI highlight the home slate. The Black Bears will hit the road at UNH this season if they want to bring home the Brice-Cowell Musket. A tough schedule overall but Maine has not been afraid to play a national schedule, especially since Jordan Stevens has been at the helm.

New Hampshire

Schedule highlights: The Wildcats open the season playing three of their first four games on the road. They open at North Carolina Central, come home for Holy Cross and then hit the road for Ball State and Dartmouth. It is great see Dartmouth back on the schedule. The Granite Bowl is always a highlight of the New England Football slate. After back to back home games against Albany and Villanova, the Wildcats hit the road for a big one at URI and then they visit Campbell. A tough home game against a good William & Mary team wraps up October. Visits to Monmouth and Bryant wrap up the road. The Brice-Cowell Musket rivalry game against Maine wraps up the season in Durham.

Rhode Island

Schedule highlights: The Rams will follow up their historic season by being on the road four of their first six games. They open the season at home against Campbell before traveling to Stony Brook and Holy Cross in back to back weeks. That two game stretch should tell us a lot about the Rams and how they will be. After a winnable game against LIU, the Rams hit the road again this time to take on the lone FBS opponent on their schedule, Western Michigan. The Rams then visit Brown for the annual Governors Cup game before returning home to host UNH. A trip to Albany sandwiches the UNH game and a visit from Bryant. Back to back trips to Elon and Maine highlights the November slate. Both of those games could have major CAA and playoff ramifications. A visit from Hampton closes out the season.
