Bradbury wins 2025 Ron Hobson Good Guy Award

FOXBOROUGH – On Tuesday, center Garrett Bradbury stepped up to the podium in the media workroom at Gillette Stadium assuming it was just a normal Q&A session.

Instead, he was getting a nice Christmas surprise.

The media voted a few weeks ago for this year’s Ron Hobson Good Guy Award, presented to the player who is the most accommodating to the media for that season, someone who may even go above and beyond their NFL requirements when it comes to accessibility. The Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan presented the honor to Bradbury in the form of a beautifully framed picture of Garrett being interviewed in the locker room.

Bradbury is now the 10th winner and has been extremely gracious with his availability despite being a newcomer in Foxborough, always making time for any reporter while at his locker or thoughtfully answering questions whenever he’s at the podium on a Monday following a win or a loss.

Bradbury also got his name on a plaque along with past winners Matthew Slater, Devin McCourty, James White, Stephon Gilmore, Cam Newton, Matthew Judon, Jakobi Meyers, David Andrews and Jonathan Jones. He seemed genuinely surprised and humbled by the acknowledgement.

“Wow, I appreciate it. Thank you guys,” Bradbury said with a big smile. “I’m honored.”

Bradbury then touched on his brief, yet very positive time here in New England.

“It’s different. Obviously, being in one spot my whole career, you guys have been awesome. Like, it’s been easy for me,” he said. “You guys have been respectful and it’s been great to get to meet all of you, to talk to all of you. So, I’m honored. That’s pretty cool. I appreciate you guys.

“It’s been awesome here. Obviously, winning helps, but the locker room, the coaches, you guys, have made it a lot of fun.”

Bradbury’s QB Drake Maye spoke after the brief presentation and before taking any questions, took a peek at the large Ron Hobson Good Guy Award gold plaque hanging inside the media workroom.

“Congrats to Garrett. Y’all see a little bit of what he’s about in the media, and what an addition he’s been this year for us,” said Maye. “He’s from my hometown. He’s from Charlotte [N.C.], went to my rival college, but what he’s meant to me and just the quarterback-center relationship is huge. It’s huge for the offense, it’s huge for my trust and confidence in the guys up front.

“He’s been a great addition to the room, and I’m glad you guys see him the same way as we do.”

We here at New England Football Journal can attest to just how awesome Bradbury has been to everyone. Congrats to Garrett on his extremely well-earned honor from the Patriots media crew.
