Storyline: The Bruins and the Canadiens bring their heated rivalry outside in what should be a great game between two teams that are jockeying for position in the Eastern Conference.

Three Keys for the B’s

1. Get to Condon Early: The B’s need to score first in this one. They need to put pressure on Holliston native Mike Condon and rattle him. He’ll have enough pressure on him as it is. Chase him early.

2. Fill the Marchand and Krejci Void:  The Bruins will need guys like Ryan Spooner, Brett Connolly and Loui Erickson to step up and fill the void created by Brad Marchand being suspended and David Krejci being hurt. The Bruins are short handed. These guys will need to step into expanded roles and produce.

3. The Gallagher Factor: Brendan Gallagher returns for the Habs today. He will give the struggling Habs offense a much needed boast. Gallagher is not afraid to play in the dirty areas in front of the net so the Bruins have to account for him.

Bottom Line: The Bruins need to win this game. You can’t host the Winter Classic and lose on home ice. You’ll look bad. Plus, it’s a chance for a second straight win against the Habs. With a win, the B’s can slide into first place in the Atlantic Division. There is plenty at stake today.
