BC reportedly adding experienced coach to offensive staff

Andrew Breiner will reportedly be ‘senior offensive analyst’ on Bill O’Brien’s staff according to Football Scoop.

So, while the Eagles don’t technically have an offensive coordinator still (it’s well established NEFJ believes O’Brien should and will ultimately call plays), it’s clear that O’Brien continues to add extremely knowledgable, well-traveled names and faces to the new-look program.

Breiner started coaching in 2006, with stops at Lock Haven, Allegheny, UConn, Fordham and Mississippi State – as a QB coach, WR coach, GA and OC, eventually head coach at Fordham – before joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 as a pass game analyst. He went back to college (FIU) a year later and joined the Jaguars staff for two years (2022-2024) as the assistant quarterbacks coach. Most recently, he was at Brown last year as the wide receivers coach under James Perry.

As far as game-planning throughout the week, it feels like this will now be a three way dance between O’Brien, QB Coach Jonathan DiBiaso and Breiner. Breiner brings a wealth of knowledge and some different ideas. He’s also got one other thing going for him when it comes to recruiting: he’s only 41.

This staff is already full of guys that are strong recruiters. Breiner’s ability to relate to younger guys – especially QBs or receivers – could be invaluable over the next few years as O’Brien tries to reshape everything how he wants it.
