Attleboro names Lamont Penn Head Coach

After a lengthy search, Attleboro High School has a new head football coach. Former Bridgewater-Raynham defensive coordinator Lamont Penn takes over the reigns of the Blue Bombardiers.

Penn for Eian Bain at BR and also coached at Norwood High School previously. Attleboro Athletic Director Mark Hoyle welcomed Penn in a statement.

“We are proud to welcome Coach Penn to Attleboro High School,” Attleboro High School Director of Athletics Mark Houle said. “We believe in his passion to create a high standard for our student-athletes on and off the field, and his vision to positively engage with our school community. We look forward to supporting Coach Penn as he works toward our program goals.”

Penn is excited for the opportunity to take over the program.

“I am honored for the opportunity to lead this program,” Penn said. “Attleboro has a strong tradition, and I am excited to work with our student-athletes to compete at a high level and represent our school with pride.”

Attleboro finished 3-8 last season and has struggled to find footing in the always tough Hockomock League. Penn has a lot of work to do to get the program to a competitive place.

Penn replaces Jim Winters who held the Attleboro Football program for four seasons.
