The Daily Script for 5/10/16

May 10, 2016

Even the Jets had enough common sense to walk away from a jacked dude who takes selfies all day and hasn’t played football in years.  1. A new broom sweeps clean and apparently that was the case at ESPN yesterday. 2. Sean McDonough will be a welcomed changed on MNF. Mike Tirico and his corny schtick was getting old. 3. Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin disciplined wide receiver coach Aaron…

Sorry Patriots Fans. I Can’t Hate Peyton Manning for Tutoring Ryan Tannehill.

May 9, 2016

Patriots fans are in an uproar today with the news that Peyton Manning is tutoring Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. My response to that? Who gives a shit! Why is it a big deal that Manning is tutoring Tannehill? Not for nothing but is anyone surprised that Manning is tutoring a quarterback? He’s a gym rat! A football junkie! He loves the game and he loves being around it. I’m not…

NFL Draft: 2017 Top 10 Quarterbacks.

May 9, 2016

The quarterback class of 2017 will not be as talented at the top as we’ve seen in the last five years. Deshaun Watson is the head liner but he has a lot of questions to answer before he can be “the guy” to head line the class. Miami’s Brad Kaaya might have the most upside Quarterbacks 1. Deshaun Watson, 6-2 210, Clemson: Watson will be the top ranked quarterback heading…

Laremy Tunsil needs to stop pretending he’s fighting in World War I and start playing football!  1. Is it really a big deal that Cyrus Jones will wear the number 24? Come on people? Don’t we have anything better to talk about? 2. Laremy Tunsil is already lobbying Dolphins coaches to play tight end. How about we start off with tackle and laying off the gas mask bong Laremy.  3….

Courtesy of Denver Broncos.com Reading between the lines can be an acquired skill. Unless of course you’re trying to figure out what John Elway is saying. That doesn’t take much skill at all. Memo to Moritz. Guys in the NFL can run. Boehringer learned that valuable lesson yesterday at mini camp. When asked what he thought so far of his first mini camp, Boehringer responded with “the tempo is much faster” Yes Mortiz, it is. Boehringer figured out pretty quickly that he is no longer playing against local yokels that work at the brewery full time and play football part time. He’s competing…

The Paterno Family Needs to Realize that Joe Pa Wasn’t the Saint They Thought He Was.

May 7, 2016

When a story broke earlier this week that Joe Paterno and other members of the Penn State coaching staff knew that Jerry Sandusky was a child abuser as early as 1976, Paterno’s son Jay  immediately got on the defensive. Jay penned a response that defended his father’s legacy and the family name.  Look, I get it. As the family spokesmen, Jay Paterno had to do that. Besides, Joe Pa was…

Sam Bradford Needs to Either Shut Up and Play Football or Retire!

May 7, 2016

I’ve had enough with Sam Bradford and his whining. Either shut up and quarterback the Philadelphia  Eagles  or just retire! Don’t waste our time threatening to hold out or retire! If that’s what you want to do, then do it!  Here’s my question. What has Bradford done in his career to instill confidence in the Eagles that he can be their quarterback of the future? He’s injury prone and wildly…

May 6, 2016

Amid rumors and speculation that Danny Amendola might get cut at some point this off-season, the veteran receivers re-worked his contract for the second time in two years. Amendola was suppose to count $6 million against the cap in 2016. Instead, he will make $7.35 million over the next two seasons and could make an additional $750,000 in incentives and catch bonuses. Restructuring his deal with the Patriots will give…
