Attleboro moving on from Jim Winters

One of the first coaching moves of the off-season has already happened in Massachusetts. Attleboro High School announced on Wednesday that they are moving on from Head Coach Jim Winters after four seasons.

Winters was hired in the spring of 2022 but failed to make the playoffs in his four seasons at the helm. As a result, he was let go by the school.

Attleboro Athletic Director Mark Houle would not comment on Winters dismissal but the school did release a statement on Wednesday announcing the decision.

“Jim Winters has led the Attleboro High School football program for the past four seasons. After reviewing the direction of the program, we have decided to make a coaching change for the 2026 season. We appreciate Winters’ work with our student-athletes and thank him for his commitment to the program. We wish him the best moving forward,” the statement said.

Prior to taking over at Attleboro, Winters had a one-year stint at Norton as offensive coordinator. He was the head coach at Silver Lake Regional High from 2015 to 2018. He was an assistant coach for Oliver Ames High School under Jim Artz from 2006 to 2014.

Attleboro is expected to start the search for a new coach immediately.
