FOXBOROUGH, MA – New England Patriots veteran offensive lineman Morgan Moses, entering his 12th NFL season, has quickly become a key mentor for rookie Will Campbell, the team’s fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. And it appears the young tackle has already made a significant impression.
Moses, whose locker is strategically placed next to Campbell’s, has lauded the rookie’s approach to the game, highlighting his eagerness to learn and his proactive desire for extra work. “The way he approaches the game — he’s eager to learn, asks questions. Every day he’s like, ‘Bro, can we get some sets?'” Moses shared with reporters following a recent OTA session.
The Patriots brought Moses on board this offseason with a three-year, $24 million deal, with an eye towards his leadership and ability to guide younger players. His extensive experience, including playing alongside future Hall of Famer Trent Williams, makes him an invaluable resource for Campbell, who is stepping into a demanding role as the team’s presumptive starting left tackle.
Moses emphasized the importance of passing down knowledge, stating, “Just being able to learn from him and take it on the field is vital because being a vet that’s played 12 years and being able to sprinkle little things to those guys and see them use it in practice and get better and just build a toolbox for themselves is good for everybody.”
Beyond his strong work ethic and inquisitive nature, Campbell’s inherent talent has also caught Moses’ eye. “And obviously, he’s a stud,” Moses remarked. “He played great football in college and now he’s just trying to figure it out. Not trying to change stuff but fine-tuning the things he learned in college and taking it to the NFL on the field and getting challenged every day.”
The veteran even lightheartedly admitted to learning from the rookie himself, saying, “I tease Will (Campbell) about it all the time… I said, ‘Will, like the things you did in college, I didn’t do 12 years ago.’ So, I’m learning from them just as much as they’re learning from me.” This mutual respect underscores the positive dynamic developing within the Patriots’ offensive line room.
While pads aren’t on yet, the early reviews of Will Campbell from a seasoned pro like Morgan Moses are overwhelmingly positive. His willingness to embrace mentorship and the rookie’s evident talent and dedication suggest a promising future for the Patriots’ offensive front.
