NEFJ: When did you start playing football?
CP: “I started playing flag football when I was 4 and tackle football when I was 7.”
NEFJ: What do you love about the game of football?
CP: “What I love about the game of football is the competition and brotherhood. I love that everyone who plays the game is very competitive and trying to push each other to their fullest potential. I also love the brotherhood built which lead to friendships that will last a lifetime.”
NEFJ: What made you decide to commit to URI? Why was it the right school for you?
CP: “I decided to commit to URI because it was everything I wanted to be apart of. From my visit, I could see that everyone was bought into the culture and how everyone was like minded in trying to win a CAA Championship. Also the coaching staff at URI was one of the best I have been around. Both my defensive coordinator and defensive line coaches are two of the smartest football minds I have been around which allowed me to grow my knowledge of the game and translate it to the field. Overall, I knew it was the right school for me the minute I stepped on campus and felt the championship culture that has been built.”
NEFJ: How much has URI prepared you for the opportunity to play in the NFL?
CP: “URI definitely has prepared me to play in the NFL. My knowledge of the game has grown tremendously and the game has slowed down after spending hours watching film with my coaches and teammates. Also, URI allowed me to play at every position on the defensive line which has allowed me to show my versatility and be ready to perform at any position in the NFL.”
NEFJ: When you are not playing football or doing anything football related, what do you like to do off the field?
CP: “When I am off the field, I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to golf and bowl and do anything sports related. I also enjoy playing video games from time to time.”
NEFJ: What is your favorite pregame meal and hype song?
CP: “My favorite pregame meals differ based on what time we are playing. If it was a 12pm game then I loved having some eggs, bacon, and fruit. If it is a later game, I enjoy salad, chicken, and pasta. My favorite pre game hype song is Pray for Them by Lil Bucks and Leafs War.”
NEFJ: What is an NFL team getting in you if they draft or sign you?
CP: “An NFL team is getting a player who loves to work hard and is willing to do whatever it takes to help a team become better. They are also getting someone that leads and is looking to push players to their fullest potential everything single day. Finally, they are getting a versatile player who can play on all 3 phases of a game. From defensive line to fullback to special teams I will do whatever it takes to get on the field and to help the team win.”
