Springfield College Head Coach Mike Cerasuolo was named the National Division 3 Head Coach of the Year on Thursday.
Cerasuolo was named coach of the year after a historic season for the Pride. Springfield won 12 games and became the second team from New England to ever reach the national quarterfinals. The only other team to do that was the 2000 Springfield team.
Springfield scored 583 points this season and averaged 427.5 yards per game, which ranked first across all NCAA Divisions this past season.
Cerasuolo has been at Springfield for since 2001. The Northborough, Massachusetts native has complied a record of 66-24 in eight seasons at the helm. The Pride have made the NCAA playoffs every season Cerasuolo has been at the helm.
Springfield has won five NEWMAC titles under Cerasuolo and he has been named NEWMAC Coach of the Year on four occasions.
Cerasuolo has also coached at Ithaca, Maine, Cortland, Lebanon Valley and Mansfield during his lengthy coaching career.
