Top 5 matchups in the Patriots-Titans game

The Patriots visit the Tennessee Titans this week. On paper, Tennessee can present some match up problems, especially on the line of scrimmage.

The game could come down to perimeter play. The Patriots will have to figure out a way to attack a secondary that is the best in the NFL. Match-ups will be key in this game.

Here are five match-ups to watch in today’s game.

Anfernee Jennings vs. J.C Latham: Jennings now becomes one of the Patriots top pass rushers and he will go up against a rookie left tackle in Latham. He’s big and athletic and once he gets his hands on you, it’s over. Jennings will have to be creative with his pass rushing moves.

Christian Gonzalez vs. Calvin Ridley: Ridley is now Tennessee’s number one receiver so he will be the primary target of the Titans passing game. Look for Christian Gonzalez to primarily match up against him in man coverage. The Patriots could switch up if they play zone coverage.

Ben Brown vs. Jeffery Simmons: Brown will have his hands full with one of the best interior defensive lineman in the NFL in Simmons. Simmons wins with power and speed. Brown will have to anchor down and hold up against Simmons who could be dominant when he is on.

Patriots O skill group vs. Titans secondary: Tennessee has the best pass defense in the NFL. They will be without L’Jarius Snead today but they still have a good secondary and they should be able to match up against a Patriots receiver and tight end group that has been the worst in the NFL from a production standpoint. The Patriots have to find a way to get their running backs involved in the passing game.

Keion White vs. Leroy Watson: White has not been the pass rusher we thought he was going to be when the season started. The production just hasn’t been there. White has a good match up today against Leroy Watson who is long but heavy footed and struggles against lineman who can jump his outside hip consistently.
