Top 16 Division 1 College Poll for Week 1

Our first Top 16 poll of the season is here. The Boston College Eagles are number one after an impressive win on Monday night against Florida State. 

Rhode Island survived a hard fought game against Holy Cross to land the second spot on our poll. 

Here is the rest of our poll. As always, we welcome your feedback. 

1. Boston College (1-0)- The Eagles kick off the Bill O’Brien era with an impressive road win at Florida State. Duquesne comes to Chestnut Hill on Saturday. 

2. Rhode Island (1-0)- The Rams picked up a hard fought 20-17 win over Holy Cross to start the season. A trip to Minnesota is next on the schedule. 

3. Maine (1-0)- Maine starts the season with a 17-14 home win over Colgate. Now the Black Bears hit the road this week to take on FCS power Montana State. 

4. Harvard (0-0)- The Crimson did not play. Open September 21st at home against Stetson. 

5. Yale (0-0)- The Bulldogs did not play. Open September 21st at Holy Cross. 

6. Dartmouth (0-0)- The Big Green did not play. Open September 21st at home against Fordham. 

7. Brown (0-0)- The Bears did not play. Open September 21st at Georgetown. 

8. Holy Cross (0-1)- The Crusaders open the Dan Curran era with a 20-17 loss to a good URI team. Crusaders need to reset this week when host UNH. 

9. Bryant (0-1)- Bulldogs open the season with a tough 48-17 loss to Delaware. They return home this week to host Division 2 Franklin Pierce. 

10. New Hampshire (0-1)- The Wildcats struggled in their season opener at Central Florida. They will look to bounce back this week when they travel to Holy Cross. 

11. Merrimack (0-1)- The Warriors played hard in a 21-6 loss to Air Force. It was an impressive effort. Merrimack will look to build on it this week at UConn. 

12. Stonehill (0-0)- The Skyhawks did not play. They open the season at Stony Brook on Saturday. 

13. Sacred Heart (0-1)- The Pioneers lost a heart breaker to Delaware State, 17-15. Coach Nofri’s squad will look to pick up their first win this Eason when hosts St. Anselm’s on Saturday. 

14. UMass (0-1)- A frustrating start to the season after losing 28-14 to Eastern Michigan. A tough trip to Toledo looms on Saturday for the Minutemen. 

15. UConn- (0-1)- The Huskies need to bounce back after a difficult 50-7 loss at Maryland. Merrimack visits Hartford on Saturday. 

16. CCSU (0-1)- The Blue Devils will look to bounce after a tough loss to Central Michigan on Thursday. Fordham visits on Saturday.
