MACtion has invaded New England as more and more MAC schools are starting to recruiting the New England region.
MAC teams have periodically recruited the region through the years. A few years back, Bowling Green recruited Dover-Sherborn defensive lineman Ted Ouellett who ended up having a good career for the Falcons.
Now thanks to newly hired running backs coach Brian White, the Falcons are recruiting the region again. In the past week, Bowling Green has made offers to Catholic Memorial running back Carson Harwood and defensive back Max Tucker.
Eastern Michigan recently offered King Philip two-way tackle Chris Sesay a scholarship. The 6-6 250 pound tackle could have more offers coming his way, specifically from other MAC schools.
Akron made a run at Springfield Central quarterback William Watson. New coach Joe Moorhead recruited Watson at Oregon and when he took the Akron job, he offered Watson again.
Just yesterday, Central Michigan offered Springfield Central offensive tackle Jayden Bass a scholarship. Buffalo offered Bass last week. He also holds an offer from UMass, which was in the MAC from 2012-2015.
MAC schools also recruit other states in New England. Tilton School (N.H) running back Jackson Paradis committed to Buffalo last year. When we interviewed him as part of our Recruiting Visit series, Paradis raved about the school and the program.
Over the last ten years, we have seen an influx of Power 5 programs coming to New England to recruit talent. Programs like Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia and Nebraska have prioritized the region.
Now you are seeing an influx of mid-majors doing the same thing. Most notably the MAC. I would expect more MAC schools coming to New England to find talent. There are too many quality players in this region not to.
So start paying attention to those Tuesday and Wednesday night MAC games in November. They are going to have a local flavor to them. The MAC has come to New England and it is only the beginning.
