Patriots Pulse Recap: Patriots 38 Dolphins 7

Game Rewind: The Patriots got off to a fast start offensively and never looked back crushing the Dolphins 38-7. Here are five thoughts on the game.

1. Sony Stock Goes Up: We got a glimpse of why Bill Belichick used a first round pick on running back Sony Michel. The rookie running back carried the ball 25 times for 112 and a touchdown. Michel has the look of a starting tailback in the NFL and he gives the Patriots offense some much needed balance offensively.

2. Gordon Debuts: Josh Gordon made his long awaited debut catching two passes for 32 yards. It is not the stat line Patriots fans were hoping for but its a start. Hopefully to bigger and better things.

3. The Defense Returns to Form: The Patriots defense returned to form and played very well after two abysmal performances against Jacksonville and Detroit. They got consistent pressure on Ryan Tannehill and never allowed Miami to get anything going.

4. White Dazzles: James White once again proved just how valuable he is to this team by accumulating 112 of all purpose yards and scoring two touchdowns. White caught 8 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown and he carried the ball eight times for 44 yards and a touchdown. He a versatile playmaker that generates match ups and can be a real weapon in every phase of the game.

5. The Emergence of Dorsett: I know Patriots fans will think I’m crazy but Phillip Dorsett is emerging as a weapon in this Patriots offense. He’s healthy and getting comfortable in the system.
