1. The Patriots are going to once again ask wide receiver Danny Amendola to take a pay cut again. I can’t say I’m surprised. Amendola is scheduled to make $6 in 2017. That’s way too much money for a receiver who only caught 23 passes last season.
2. The Rams are debating as to whether or not they should franchise cornerback Trumaine Johnson. The answer. YES! He is too big a part of the Rams nucleus on defense.
3. Adrian Peterson is not a free agent yet and even if he were, I doubt the Patriots or Giants would sign him.
4. I have a hard time believing that Bill Belichick would hire Chip Kelly as his tight ends coach. A. I don’t think Kelly would take it. B. Belichick has plenty of in house candidates he could promote instead.
5. Former Patriots tight end coach Brian Daboll will do a great job at Alabama as offensive coordinator. Daboll will run a similar offense at Bama to what the Patriots run. Expect a lot of three step passes, perimeter screens and timing routes vertically.
6. Minnesota has secured the rights to Row the Boat from Western Michigan. One would think that P.J Fleck would come up with a new mantra at Minnesota. “Row the Boat” is getting a little stale in my opinion.
7. I find it interesting that all of a sudden the Arizona Cardinals want to spend in free agency. Really? Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald weren’t old last off-season? Give me a break!
8. Hall of Fame voters are starting to sound idiotic when defending themselves on why they passed on Terrell Owens. Dropped passes? Really?? So I guess Brett Farve isn’t a Hall of Famer then. He threw over 200 interceptions in his career.
9. I give the Dolphins credit for extending Cam Wake. He had a nice bounce back season in 2016. Why not give him a couple of more years and let him finish his career in Miami. Makes sense.
10. Speaking of the Dolphins. I’m not surprised they cut Mario Williams and are on the brink of trading Branden Albert. Neither Signing made sense to me, especially Williams. Both men are veteran rotational players at this point in their careers.
