FOXBOROUGH – In one of the biggest no-brainer decisions of all time for the fan base, the Patriots announced on Wednesday that Rob Gronkowski has officially been elected to the Patriots Hall of Fame.
Arguably the greatest tight end of all time retired as a Patriot with a one-day contract last season and now he’ll have a red jacket coming his way sometime this season.
Gronk finished his Patriots career with 521 receptions, 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns…and that’s just in 115 regular season games. In the postseason, Gronk had 81 catches for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns to go along with the rings.
Charisma, a deep connection with the fan base and a virtual imposisbulity to cover on the field, Gronk will go down as one of the most memorable, dynamic players in NFL history, let alone Patriots history.
“Rob Gronkowski’s performance on the field was extraordinary, but it was his infectious energy and consistently positive presence that truly set him apart,” said Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft in a statement. “He always brightened everyone’s day. He earned the respect of coaches and teammates through his work ethic, preparation and unselfish approach, while redefining what it meant to play his position. Rob became a fan favorite almost immediately and remained the standard at tight end for nearly a decade.
“We look forward to celebrating his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame and, in time, the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
The team announced that the date and time for the induction ceremony will be announced after the 2026 schedule is released and details are confirmed with Gronkowski.
Gronowski won the fan vote (which has been how the HOF is decided since 2007) over Adam Vinatieri and Logan Mankins.
Gronk will be the 38th inductee into The Hall at Patriots Place.
