Jack Jones meets with the media after the in-stadium practice

Patriots cornerback Jack Jones met with the media after Friday night’s in-stadium practice. Jonathan Jones was supposed to speak but he did not practice.

Jones did not comment on what happened on June 16th at Logan Airport. He has been instructed not to by his attorney.

Jones was arrested for having two firearms on his carry on luggage. He was charged on two of five counts and posted his $30,000 dollar bail. Jones is due back in court on August 18th.

Jones said he is just focused on football right now.

“When I get out here on the football field, it’s all ball I just come out here to play ball and give it my all. And do what I’m  supposed to for the team.”

As far as what happened at yesterday’s practice with teammate Kendrick Bourne, Jones took the high road.

“Yesterday at practice? Just football,” Jones said. “Today is today. It’s in the past. It’s nothing bad. We good today though.”

When Jones was asked how optimistic he is that he will be on the 2023 Patriots, he said that is up to his coach.

“That’s not my call. That’s up to coach,” Jones said. “I just do what I’m supposed to do on the field, give it my all every day and hope it falls in the right place.”

Jones was also asked about his future in the NFL.

“I mean, every day you’re worried about your future on any team because this league is very liquid,” Jones added: “You could be here today and gone tomorrow on any team so you just have to go out there and participate. Availability is the best ability.”

Jones is availability for the season could indeed be doubt but it is too early to speculate. For now, he is still a part of the organization.
