There is plenty of talent still on the board as the NFL Draft commences tonight. Here are the best available prospects in round 2.
1. Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State: Cook is the best player available. Top 15 prospects don’t often fall into the second. Thanks to off field issues, Cook is available.
2. Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky: I can’t believe Lamp is still on the board. He will come off the board reletively early tonight.
3. Kevin King, CB, Washington: King has the length and ball skills teams look for. I can’t believe he slipped into the second round. He will go early in round two.
4. Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama: Robinson is talented but inconsistent fundamentals is the biggest reason he is still on the board.
5. Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma: We all know why Mixon is still on the board. It will be interesting to see if Mixon slips into the third round.
6. Deshone Kizer, QB, Norte Dame: Kizer might be the most physically gifted quarterback in this year’s draft class. Yet he still on the board. Go figure.
7. Budda Baker, S, Washington: An aggressive safety with cornerback skills. Baker ought to go within the first ten picks of the second round.
8. Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston: Bowser was getting some first round consideration from a handful of teams. Ultimately he didn’t go in the first but he should be a great second round value.
9. Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado: Awuzie is another corner getting first round consideration. I didn’t see but he should be a solid value in round two.
10. Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State: We wouldn’t be talking about McDowell right now if he came out after his junior year. McDowell took half of his senior year off and now he’s paying for it financially.
11. Davis Webb, QB, Cal: Teams are going to be looking to trade up into the top of the second round to the talented pocket passer.
12. Sidney Jones, CB, Washington: Jones would have gone in the top fifteen if he didn’t get hurt during his pro day. Despite his injury, I still think he is a value at this spot.
13. Zach Cunningham, OLB, Vanderbilt: Cunningham is athletic but his slight frame is a big reason why Cunningham is still on the board.
14. Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida: Anothet long corner who can press and re-route receivers. A solid rounf two value.
15. Carl Lawson, OLB, Auburn: Lawson is explosive pass rusher who plays with good lean and technique. Solid late second round value.
