1. Vernon Hargreaves Florida 5-10 1/2 204: Hargreaves is a smooth, fluid athlete who has good feet and can flip his hips with ease. Hargreaves maintains good hip position and despite his size, has terrific ball skills. Hargreaves is not afraid stack and shed a blocker and make a form tackle. Hargreaves has the work ethic and the leadership qualities teams look for. I think he will be a solid cover corner who has the potential to be a future pro bowler. I don’t think he’s a “shut down” corner but he can be a solid second corner/starter.

2. Eli Apple Ohio State 6-0 1/2 199: I like Apple’s size and length. I think he can play as a squat cover two corner but he has the ball skills to match up in man to man coverage. Apple shows good anticipation when and the ball in the air and he breaks up a lot of passes. Apple is not as fluid in his back pedal as Hargreaves and he has a tendency to play tall at times. Teams love big corners nowadays. Apple is smart, physical and he has the look for a long term starter. From a potential standpoint, I think he’s a top 20 prospect.

3. Mackenzie Alexander Clemson 5-10 1/2 190: Alexander had a terrific sophomore season and was dominate at times last season. Alexander is fluid and he flips his hips naturally without any hesitation. He is effective in the trail technique. Maintains hip position in man coverage and can go up and play the better in the air. Very competitive. Alexander hasn’t given up a touchdown pass in 24 starts. Willing participant in run support. Not afraid to mix it up. Gambles a little too much for my liking. He has a tendency to get caught out of position. I think Alexander is starter material and a late first round pick.

4. William Jackson Houston 6-01 1/2 189: Jackson is climbing on teams draft boards. He has good size and is a good athlete. He looks smooth in his back pedal and transitions quickly. Jackson plays with a good, balanced posture and can get in and out of his cuts. I don’t see him being a press cover two corner. I think he’s physical enough but he doesn’t look comfortable playing up. Jackson is at his best when he can play in loose zone coverage, read the quarterback, feel the route and make a play on the ball. I think Jackson has the tool and the athleticism to go in the first round.

5. Kendall Fuller Virginia Tech 5-11 187: Three year starter who played for defensive coordinator Bud Foster at Va Tech. Fuller is physical at the line of scrimmage as a press cover two corner. He does a great job re-routing receivers, reading the quarterback and adjusting. Fuller can be stiff at times in his back pedal at times. He’s not as clean as you’d like. He is a physical tackler in run support and he does a decent job attacking blockers. He can be overwhelmed at times. Fuller needs to play more disciplined. He took some dumb penalties at key times last season.

6. Jalen Mills LSU 6-0 191: Mills has good size and length. He runs well and doesn’t waste steps. Has good recovery speed and he can maintain hip position. Balanced in transition. Mills doesn’t break stride.

7. Artie Burns Miami (Fla) 5-11 1/2 193

8. Keivarae Russell 5-11 192 Notre Dame

9. Zach Sanchez Oklahoma 5-10 1/2 185

10. Xavien Howard Baylor 6-0 201
