The week of the upset as both New Canaan and Darien go down. As a result, both fall out of the top five in our poll this week.
1. Greenwich (3-0): Impressive interstate win over a good Bishop Hendricken team for the Cardinals.
2. Windsor (3-0): Statement win over one of the top programs in the state in Darien will move you up in any poll.
3. Staples (3-0): Grinded out a 28-21 win over Maloney. A big win for a Wreckers team that all of a sudden is looking like a favorite again in Class LL
4. Masuk (3-0): It’s not often New Canaan get shut out at home. What a win for the Panthers.
5. Hand (3-0): The Tigers have been flat out dominate this season thus far.
6. Darien (2-1): Early season wake up for the Blue Wave. It will pay dividends down the stretch.
7. New Canaan (2-1): Rams have some things to work on offensively but they’ll bounce back. They also do.
8. St. Joe’s (3-0): Beat Bloomfield 38-0. That’ll make headlines any day of the week.
9. Newtown (3-0): Beat Southington in a shootout, 35-21. Don’t sleep on this team folks.
10. West Haven (2-1): Nick Conlan and company keep things rolling offensively in big win.
11. Killingly (3-0): Big win over Sheehan for the Redmen. The ground game is still churning out yards.
12. Ansonia (3-0): Defense dominated in 41-0 win over Watertown. Chargers sort of flying under the radar.
13. Bunnell (3-0): Hung 55 on Middletown. Much stiffer test awaits this week with Masuk.
14. North Haven (2-1): Beat Platt 30-16 on the road. Tough game on the docket this week Cheshire.
15. Fairfield Prep (2-1): Jesuits bounce back against Trumbull with a 17-13 win. A visit to winless Xavier is next.
16. Naugatuck (3-0): Greyhounds offense has been cooking all season. They are averaging 40 a game.
17. Rockville (3-0): Rams winning upfront. That has been the difference thus far.
18. Maloney (1-2): Big drop for a Spartans team that has played well offensively but needs to work on some things defensively.
19. Brookfield (3-0): Brookfield is rolling along. They have winless Stratford this week before their showdown with Bunnell.
20. Manchester (3-0): RedHawks survive against Danbury, 27-21. They visit a tough Glastonbury team this week.
21. Cromwell-Portland (2-0): Bye week for CP. Back in action this week.
22. New Britain (3-0): Golden Hurricanes outlast Hamden, 36-33. Next up is a trip to Southington.
23. Sheehan (2-1): Tough loss to Killingly. Titans had their chances. Sheehan hits the road this week at Harding.
24. Cheshire (2-1): Beat Guilford in a close one. The Rams host North Haven and their potent rushing attack this week.
25. Windham (3-0): Offensive explosion has been impressive the past two weeks.
