UMass schedule unveiled, is this finally the year of bowl eligibility for the Minutemen?

It’s almost that time again, UMass fans.

Another year of the Don Brown resurgence is technically underway with winter workouts, but things officially ramp up with spring ball in a month.

The next best thing to real football news dropped on Monday morning as the team unveiled its schedule.

You’ll be able to get your first glimpse of the 2024 team during the spring game on April 27th. This 2024 team is tasked with being the first to qualify for a bowl game and there’s really not many excuses left. Now in Year 3 of second Brown Era with a legit offense and intimidating defense (at times), it’s hard to tell fans they should expect anything less after getting to the three-win threshold in 2023.

UMass plays seven straight weeks before having a bye. The schedule is brutally tough after that bye too, with trips to Mississippi State and Georgia around home games with Liberty and UConn.

If UMass is in fact going to become bowl eligible, the early part of the season (at least Toledo, Buffalo & CCSU) all need to be wins. No excuse against Wagner either and they should be able to handle Liberty. Six wins is absolutely on the table if this team continues progressing and stays healthy.
