The Patriots host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. On paper, the Giants pose a lot of match up problems individually. The Patriots will have their hands full when it comes to one on one match-ups. They have to win as many of these match ups as they can if they want to win this game.
Brian Burns vs. Vedarian Lowe: Burns is second in the NFL in sacks with 13. He is explosive off the edge and can win with speed and power. Lowe has the length and athleticism to match up but he cannot give the edge. He has to force back inside and into a secondary pass rush move as much as possible.
Dexter Lawrence vs. Garrett Bradbury: Lawrence has been a disappointment this season but he is still a load to block inside and could cause problems for the undersized Bradbury. The Patriots will need to run duo schemes in the run game and double him in pass protection on certain downs and distances.
Jermaine Eluemanor vs. Harold Landry: Eluemanor is a familiar name to Patriots fans as he played here a few years back. The Patriots have a clear advantage in this match up. Landry should be able to get consistent pressure and win one on one in certain situations. Especially obvious passing downs.
Cor’Dale Flott vs. Stefon Diggs: The Giants corners as a whole are a liability, especially on vertical passes. The Patriots should be able to push the ball down the field in this game. Expect Flott to be on Diggs a lot tonight and if that is the case, the Patriots will have a clear advantage. Diggs could up having a big game.
Abdul Carter vs. Morgan Moses: Carter only has a half a sack this season but he could still present some problems for the veteran right tackle with his get off and his ability to bend and finish as a pass rusher. Moses is going to have to win with power and stonewall Carter or else he could have his hands full.
