Top 16 Division 1 College Poll for Week 7

Several programs were idle this week so there was not much movement in the poll.

Here is this week’s Top 16 Division One Poll.

1. Rhode Island (5-1): Rams outlast the Bears 31-21 to keep the Governors Cup in Kingston. A big game is on tap this week with a visit to UNH.

2. Boston College (4-2): Eagles had a bye this past week. They visit Blacksburg on Thursday night to take on Virginia Tech.

3. UConn (4-2): Huskies were on a bye. Wake Forest visits the Rent on Saturday in the fourth game of a six game home stand.

4. Harvard (3-1): Crimson took care of Cornell on Friday night. Holy Cross visits Cambridge on Saturday.

5. Dartmouth (4-0): Epic come back win for the Big Green on Saturday at Yale. Dartmouth has a chance to keep the game times rolling on Saturday when they host CCSU.

6. New Hampshire (4-2): Survived at Elon. A big test awaits when URI invades Durham on Saturday.

7. Yale (2-2): The Bulldogs inexperience reared its ugly head on Saturday. Tony Reno’s squad doesn’t have much time to dwell on it. Lehigh visits New Haven on Saturday.

8. CCSU (3-3): Blue Devils jump up two spots after beating Mercyhurst. A visit to Hanover, New Hampshire to take Dartmouth is next.

9. Maine (3-3): Black Bears struggle in tough loss to Delaware. It doesn’t get any easier this week with Villanova visiting Orono.

10. Brown (2-2): Bears battled in tough loss to URI. They do not have much to lick their wounds as they visit Princeton on Friday night.

11. Holy Cross (3-4): Crusaders had to come from behind against a winless Fordham. A win is a win however. A big game against a good Harvard team is next on Saturday.

12. Merrimack (2-4): Warriors jump up three spots after a nice win over Morgan State. They host Stonehill at Duane Stadium on Saturday.

13. Bryant (2-4): Missed opportunity against Albany. Bulldogs hit the road this week to Monmouth.

14. Sacred Heart (3-4): Pios had their chances against Howard but couldn’t get it done. They travel to Lafayette this week.

15. Stonehill (1-4): It has been a tough season for the Skyhawks thus far. Losing to previously winless Long Island doesn’t help matters. A trip to Andover to take on former NEC foe Merrimack is next.

16. UMass (1-6): Saturday went about as we thought it would in a 45-3 loss to Missouri. A bye is tap for the Minutemen this week.
