The regular season wrapped up for several programs this week. Rhode Island, New Hampshire and CCSU qualified for the FCS playoffs with the Rams winning the CAA and the Blue Devils winning the NEC. In the Ivy League, Yale beat Harvard and Dartmouth beat Brown which means Harvard, Dartmouth and Columbia all shared a piece of the Ivy League title. Finally, B.C became bowl eligible with an impressive win over UNC.
Here is this week’s Top 16 Poll.
1. Rhode Island (10-2): Rams fought off Bryant, won a share of the CAA and will be hosting CCSU in the first round of the FCS playoffs.
2. Harvard (8-2): Crimson had a chance to win the Ivy League outright but thwarted those plans once again.
3. Dartmouth (8-2): Big Green grabbed a share of the Ivy League title for the second straight year with a season ending win over Brown.
4. New Hampshire (8-4): Wildcats kept the Brice-Cowell Musket with a win over rival Maine and earned an at-large bid in the FCS playoffs. They will host UT-Martin on Saturday in round one.
5. Yale (7-3): Bulldogs were the hottest team in the Ivy League heading into “The Game” and spolied the party for Harvard, beating them 34-29.
6. UConn (7-4): Huskies fell behind early and rallied against Syracuse but the rally fell short. Visiting UMass on Saturday to close out the season.
7. Boston College (6-5): Eagles are bowl eligible after trouncing UNC. Host Pitt in the season finale on Saturday.
8. CCSU (7-5): Blue Devils complete remarkable turnaround with a 21-14 win over Duquesne and an NEC title. Travel to URI Saturday for round one of the playoffs.
9. Holy Cross (6-6): Crusaders blow out Georgetown and grab a share of the Patriot League title.
10. Sacred Heart (5-6): Pios wrapped up season last week by beating Merrimack for the inagural Yankee Conference Championship.
11. Merrimack (5-6): Warriors wrap up the season with a nice win on the road against Fordham.
12. Maine (5-7): Black Bears finish the season on a two game losing streak but still a positve season nonetheless.
13. Brown (3-7): Bears lose big at Dartmouth. Tough end to a disappointing season. James Perry and his staff have a lot of work to do this off-season.
14. UMass (2-9): Minutemen hung tough against Georgia for a half and showed some fight. Close out the season Saturday at home against UConn.
15. Bryant (2-9): Bulldogs went toe to toe with the Rams but URI pulled away in the second half. Tough season overall.
16. Stonehill (1-10): Skyhawks end rough season with a loss to Robert Morris. Big off-season coming for Eli Gardner and his staff as they try to righ the ship.
