The Way-Too-Early MIAA 40 To Watch

You may look at a piece like this and think, “The 2025 season? Already?”

Why, yes, it is a perfectly acceptable time to look ahead, because, why not?

So, in alphabetical order, here are 40 teams to keep an eye out for.

A lot can happen between now and August, including #TransferSeason, so this list is sure to change. Until then, take a look.

Andover — The Warriors had a young team and took their lumps, but this team should be better up front, and will be better than in 2024.

Barnstable — This team returns basically everyone from 2024, and there are enough playmakers here to do some damage.

Billerica — An up and down team from last year, this squad may find more consistency in 2025.

Bishop Feehan — Had some bright spots last season, and is a consistent winner in the Catholic Central Large.

BC High — What does Paul Zukauskas have planned for Year 2?

Bridgewater-Raynham — Returns a lot, and will develop further in Eian Bain’s second year with the program.

Catholic Memorial — Maybe your preseason No. 1. Have to replace RB Mekhi Dodd (Boston College), but there is speed everywhere.

Central Catholic — Has been young the last two years. Could blossom in 2025.

Clinton — Another small school in Central Mass. with great potential.

Duxbury — Death, taxes, and Duxbury getting to Gillette.

Foxboro — Four starting offensive linemen from the D5 state title game return.

Franklin — Todd Kiley will have this team rolling in his second year with the program.

Hanover — Very competitive on the South Shore each year now.

King Philip — Love the offense, but some rebuilding to do on defense.

Leominster — Osiris Lopez heads to his final year with the Blue Devils.

Mansfield — Hornets were ahead of schedule this year.

Marblehead — A consistent program on the North Shore.

Marshfield — A lot to replace, but the Rams typically reload.

Methuen — Good skill back, but have to rebuild the trenches.

Milford — Another contender in the Hock.

Milton — Had a little dip this year, but should be better.

Natick — Very good along the lines, and maybe a top 10 team.

Needham — Lost a lot, but this is a big school with athletes.

North Attleboro — Will be tough up front again with a downhill running game.

North Reading — A team from the Cape Ann to keep an eye on.

Reading — Lost a good senior class, but should be fine.

St. John’s Prep — Will be fun to watch Chris Vargas develop.

St. Mary’s — Had some good, young skill this year.

Scituate — Maybe not as dominant as 2024, but still formidable.

Shawsheen — Losing Sid the Kid, but returning plenty to stay in the mix.

Springfield Central — Speed everywhere, what a surprise.

Stoneham — Had a solid 2024 to build on.

Tewksbury — Consistent out of the MVC.

Uxbridge — Cam LaChapelle back for more.

Wachusett — Had some solid wins this year.

Walpole — Will reload.

Wellesley — Lukas Prock a quarterback to watch.

West Boylston — How about four in a row?

Weymouth — May make a big move.

Xaverian — If CM is not No. 1, the Hawks may be.
