Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb were really on fire today.
All four home teams dominated in what was a pretty uneventful wild card weekend in the NFL.
Here ten thoughts on this weekend’s games.
1. You have to feel bad for Jack Del Rio and the Raiders. Two weeks ago they were a Super Bowl contender. Now they are out of the playoffs. When Derek Carr went down on Christmas Eve, so did the Raiders season.
2. The Texans defense was dominate in yesterday’s win over the Raiders, but that was against the Connor Cook led Oakland Raiders.
Houston’s defense will need to be nearly flawless next Saturday night if they want to beat the Patriots.
3. Jadeveon Clowney is the epitome of a game wrecker. He has to be accounted for on every play. The Patriots will have to slide protections to him and chip him with a back on every pass play.
4. The Seahawks looked like the Seahawks of old in their 26-6 win over the Lions. They ran the football and played great defense. It’s 2013 all over again!
If they can do those two things well again next weekend, they’ll beat Atlanta.
5. Thomas Rawls had been a non factor for the Seahawks most of the season but when they needed him the most, he stepped up and rushed for 161 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown. He helped the Seahawks regain their identity.
6. Lets be honest. The Lions didn’t deserve to make the playoffs. They came from behind on eight separate occasions and they didn’t beat a team with a winning record. Enough said
7. The Steelers manhandled the Dolphins 30-12 in a game that was never a game. The Killer B’s were on point today in a dominate performance. It helped playing a Dolphins team that was cold and afraid.
8. Speaking of the Dolphins. Adam Gase has them heading in the right direction but they weren’t really a playoff team. They overachieved. Realistically speaking, they were a year ahead of schedule.
9. The Packers couldn’t pick up a yard in the first quarter and a half against the Giants, then the light went on. What a second half performance by Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb. Their stuff was on fire!

Green Bay is scary good when they are clicking on offense. Of course they played most of the game without Jordy Nelson. It’ll be interesting to see if Nelson can play next week. Green Bay will need him in Dallas.
10. Odell Beckham Jr. was a non-factor in the Giants 38-13 loss. He caught four passes for 28 yards.
To make matters worse, he punched a hole in the wall outside the Packers grounds keepers office.
Beckham has a lot of growing up to do. He will never be the player he can truly be until he learns to manage his anger and emotions.
