The 2026 season marks the 39th year of football for the Stonehill Skyhawks as they continue to build their identity in NCAA Division I FCS and the Northeast Conference (NEC). Coming off a 4-8 campaign (3-4 in the NEC) in 2025, Eli Gardner—the Paul Finn ’71 Head Football Coach—enters his 11th season leading the program, making him the longest-tenured head coach in Skyhawks varsity history.

EASTON- As Stonehill College prepares for the 2026 season, the program stands on the threshold of what could be a defining breakout season in the Northeast Conference (NEC).
After enduring the growing pains of transitioning to the NCAA Division I FCS level, the Skyhawks enter the season with a mature roster, established offensive playmakers, and a firm culture established under Head Coach Eli Gardner.
EASTON- It was a cold and raw morning at Stonehill College for our annual spring visit with the Skyhawks. The weather might have been cold but temperatures were running high on the field as the Skyhawks were practicing with a mid fall camp intensity.
The Stonehill Skyhawks are back on the turf for spring practice with a singular goal in mind: Improvement. Following a 2025 campaign that saw the program finish 4-8 overall and 3-4 in the NEC, head coach Eli Gardner and his staff are focused on closing the gap in a conference where they are now fully postseason eligible.
