As the Brown Bears prepare to kick off their upcoming season, optimism and urgency run high inside the Berylson Family Football Complex. Coming off Ivy League Football Media Day, the message from Providence is clear: Brown is eager to push its high-tempo, competitive program to the next level. Head Coach James Perry, accompanied by senior leaders quarterback James Murphy and linebacker Max Malo, represented the Bears on the virtual media stage, laying out a unified vision grounded in hard work, disciplined execution, and locker-room chemistry.

Brown 29, Bryant 19 – Strong second half propels Bears to come from behind win

SMITHFIELD: Brown Bears sophomore running back Qwentin Brown said that he remembered being told in Pop Warner that you play to the whistle. He did exactly that on Friday night after scoring on a 26 yard touchdown run that gave the Bears a 29-19 lead and was an examination point to a second half comeback. Brown was initially stuffed at the line of scrimmage but kept his feet moving and emerged from the pile to hit pat dirt in a play that was SportsCenter Top Ten worthy.

Brown announces 2029 recruiting class

Brown announced the incoming freshman class on Monday. 23 members make up the Class of 2029. The group features recruits from all over the country including Hawaii.  Once again, James Perry and his staff emphasized New England recruiting picking commitments from five New England prospects.  The emphasis was on restocking the skill positions on offense and the secondary on defense. It was a gorgeous 75 degree morning when we visited with the Brown Bears on Saturday. The Bears are coming off of a difficult 3-7 season in 2024. A season that led to changes.  The Bears have a new defensive coordinator in former Anna Maria coach Dan Mulrooney. Mulrooney was recently the head coach at Lock Haven. Unfortunately for James Perry’s squad, they only won one game the rest of the way in a disappointing season. Replacing Jake Willcox at quarterback is priority number one.
