St. Sebastian’s tackle Marky Walbridge commits to Michigan

For years now – really ever since Don Brown was the defensive coordinator – the Michigan football program has come to Massachusetts for some elite talent, particularly up front.

After Zak Zinter became a household name from BB&N a few years ago during his time at Michigan, another ISL player is heading to Ann Arbor to hopefully follow in his footsteps.

St. Sebastian’s tackle Marky Walbridge officially decided on the Wolverines on Wednesday afternoon, making the announcement through the On3 recruiting site.

Walbridge was arguably the most heavily recruited target in the state for the 2026 class. At 6’6″ and almost 300lbs. it’s easy to see why coaches all over the country salivated at the idea of having Walbridge as a cornerstone for their offensive line for years to come.

According to Rivals, Walbridge had 23 offers. Boston College, Florida, Alabama, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, UNC, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin were all on that list, among other schools. Basically, Walbridge was on every single radar in the country.

A quick Look at his Hudl tape shows why. Quick feet and an ability to manhandle someone lined up across from him.

After not allowing a single sack from his usual spot at left tackle, the Needham native was voted as the ISL Offensive Linemen of the Year after his junior season and was also named to the MHSFCA Super 26 All-State team.

Unfortunately for his ISL foes, they’ve still got one more year left to deal with Walbridge before he goes and causes some havoc in the Big 10.
