Sights and Sounds from Patriots Training Camp-Day 8

It was a beautiful day at Gillette Stadium to take in a training camp practice and Patriots fans came out in droves as one of the largest crowds of training camp came out to watch the team practice.

-Mac Jones built off of what he did yesterday. He threw the ball well in group and team. He has great chemistry with all of his receivers but his chemistry with Ju-Ju Smith Schuster is especially evident. Jones did throw an interception to Kyle Dugger during on the team periods.

-Speaking of Mac, he was having fun today. He was talking smack to the D and he dropped a little shimmy dance on them after he completed a pass to Kendrick Bourne along the left sideline. Bourne exhibited some toe drag swag in making the catch over Christian Gonzalez.

-Cornerback Jack Jones was visibly frustrated at one point and left practice after an exchange with Bourne. Jabrill Peppers tried to call him down as he was leaving. He would later come back.

– Cole Strange and Ty Montgomery were spotted at practice with their helmets but were not in pads and mostly watched practice.

– Rhamondre Stevenson practiced and he looked good. He was fresh and made his cuts look easy. He also caught the ball well and was good in pass protection.

– Demario Douglas continued to give Marcus Jones fits. It has been a fun match up to watch in camp thus far. Jones has met his match athletically.

– Marte Mapu played some deep half safety today and looks like he will be used as a hybrid 3X3 player who play all three downs, at all three levels.

– The defense as a whole was better today but if I had to give one side of the ball the edge, I would give it to the offense.

– Corliss Waitman punted the ball well . He got good height and distance on his punts. He still faces an uphill battle against Bryce Baringer. Kicker Chad Ryland continues to be impressive both kicking off and on field goals. He has big time leg talent.

-Kyle Dugger picked off Mac during a team period. He made a diving interception. Dugger has had a very good camp. He is showcasing his versatility and displaying some leadership qualities as well.
