Recruiting Visit: Tommy Vallett, QB, Mansfield High School

We had an opportunity to catch up with Mansfield High School quarterback Tommy Vallett. Vallett is one of the top returning signal callers in the State of Massachusetts and a player to watch on a good Mansfield team.

Here is our conversation with Tommy on his off-season, college recruiting and what is next.

NEFJ: How has the off-season gone for you so far? What have you done in regards to getting yourself ready for the upcoming season?

TV: “I have been putting in so much work in the weight room. I have been going every morning since winter lifts started. I have also been attending the M2 QB Academy, they help me improve every week.”

NEFJ: How has the recruiting process been. How much communication have you had with coaches? Any specific schools that you have spoken with you or offered you lately?

TV: ” I am still exploring my options with the schools I am looking at. I’ve had a couple of coaches come to my school and talk to me about what their recruiting process is. Stonehill, UNH, URI, UMaine and Bentley have been reaching out to me. But I don’t have an offer.”

NEFJ: Have you had the opportunity to show what you can do at any showcases or combines this off-season?

TV: “I have been to one showcase to show off my talent, there are many more upcoming ones that I will be at.”

NEFJ: What is your summer looking like in terms of camps and preparing for the upcoming season?

TV: “My summer is looking pretty busy with the camps, showcases, weight room, and the work that I am putting in with M2 QB Academy. Also my coach is setting up a 7v7 league as well.”

NEFJ
: When do you anticipate making a decision regarding what school you will be attending in the Fall of 2026?

TV: ” After making it to the state championship last year we have high expectations to make it again. I am focused on that. I will make that decision when the time is right.”

NEFJ: What are looking for in a school ultimately? From a football and academic perspective.

TV: “I am looking for a school that will have a great atmosphere on the football field, also to play with a welcoming family, and I am looking for a school that will have a great criminal justice program.”

NEFJ: How do you plan to unwind the rest of this off-season before the regular season grind begins?

TV: “I’m looking for me and my teammates to keep getting on the field so we can have a connection and feel comfortable playing with each other before the regular season begins.”
