Former Everett star Josaiah Stewart has a new home. Stewart is transfering from Coastal Carolina to Michigan. Stewart made the announcement via social media pages last night. The move is not a surprise. Stewart decided to transfer after former Coastal Carolina Coach Jamey Chadwell decided to leave for Liberty last week. Stewart committed to Coastal Carolina in August of 2020 and made an immediate impact as a freshmen racking up 12.5 sacks.
Stewart only played in five games this season but still finished with 37 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He moved from defensive end to the Bandit position prior to the start of the season. It took him sometime to get acclimated but once he did, Stewart played well when he was healthy.

Coming out of high school, Stewart originally committed to Boston College but decommitted and ended up signing with Coastal Carolina despite having other offers. Michigan had expressed interest in him in high school and circled back around to Stewart once he hit the portal.
Stewart will have an opportunity to play right away for the Wolverines. He is a great scheme fit for them because he can play in all packages and he can rush the passer on a consistent basis. Stewart fits a similar mold to former Wolverines Josh Uche and David Ojabo.
The Massachusetts to Michigan connection is well documented as several key contributors for the Wolverines are from the Bay State including Stewart’s former Everett teammate Mike Sainristil and former BB&N product Zak Zinter among others.
