The Patriots have signed fourth round pick Jake Andrews to a four-year, $4.65 million deal. The signing was first reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Andrews was selected with the 107th overall selection in the fourth round and was the first offensive player taken by the team after it spent its first three draft picks on defense.

The 6-3, 305 pound lineman played both guard and center at Troy. Andrews started his career at center but also started 23 games at guard for the Trojans. He moved back to center prior to last season.

Andrews played for former Patriots offensive line coach Cole Popovich last season. He started all 14 of the Trojans’ games and earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.

With David Andrews entering the later stages of his career and Jake’s versatility and his experience at center made him a no brainer pick for the Patriots. He is their type of player along the offensive line.

That is why there is a strong possibility Andrews makes the 53 man roster coming out of camp.
