The Patriots took a significant step in shaping their 2026 roster on Friday, officially announcing the signing of five of their nine draft picks along with 12 rookie free agents.
The signings mark the beginning of the professional journey for a group that features a Big 12 championship-winning quarterback, a versatile offensive lineman with Florida State and Harvard roots, and a diverse collection of defensive playmakers.
The Patriots wasted no time getting signatures from several of their late-round selections, securing talent across nearly every unit.
Here is the full list of who signed and the 12 rookie free agents at this week’s rookie minicamp.
CB Karon Prunty (Round 5, Pick 171): A seasoned defensive back out of Wake Forest, the 6-foot-1 Prunty brings a wealth of experience with 55 collegiate starts. Known for his ball-hawking ability, he tallied 17 interceptions during a journeyman collegiate career that also saw him excel at Kansas and North Carolina A&T.
T Dametrious Crownover (Round 6, Pick 196): Standing at a massive 6-foot-7 and 319 pounds, Crownover was a pillar for Texas A&M’s offensive line. He started every game at right tackle last season, helping the Aggies secure a College Football Playoff berth.
LB Namdi Obiazor (Round 6, Pick 212): The TCU product is a high-volume tackler, finishing his college career with 302 total stops. His sideline-to-sideline speed and ability to contribute in the pass rush (8.5 sacks) make him an intriguing developmental piece for the Patriots’ linebacker corps.
QB Behren Morton (Round 7, Pick 234): Morton arrives in Foxborough after a historic season at Texas Tech, where he led the Red Raiders to their first Big 12 title and a playoff appearance. He departs Lubbock with over 8,900 passing yards and 71 touchdowns.
RB Jam Miller (Round 7, Pick 245): A versatile back from Alabama, Miller averaged over 4.5 yards per carry and proved to be a reliable target out of the backfield, providing the kind of dual-threat capability New England has traditionally valued.
The Patriots also confirmed a 12-man undrafted free agent class, looking to find the next diamond in the rough.
The offensive additions are headlined by Jacob Rizy, a versatile lineman who played every position but left tackle during his time at Harvard and Florida State, and Myles Montgomery, a UCF captain who provides depth at running back. On the perimeter, the team added significant size and production in Kyle Dixon—a former baseball pitcher with a 1,200-yard receiving season at his back—and Jimmy Kibble, an All-Conference standout from Georgetown.
Defensively, the Patriots bolstered their front and secondary with David Blay Jr., a disruptive edge with 11.5 career sacks, and Kenneth Harris, a flexible defensive back from Oklahoma State capable of playing both corner and safety.
