Campbell was widely regarded as one of the top offensive line prospects in this year’s draft. His signing brings a sigh of relief to the Patriots organization, as it ensures their projected franchise left tackle is locked in and ready to contribute from day one.
The 21-year-old Campbell took over the starting left tackle job at LSU as a freshman and never looked back, establishing himself as a formidable pass protector. He played over 2,553 snaps in college and only allowed a mere five sacks and 45 quarterback pressures, demonstrating remarkable consistency and a polished technique for his age. Campbell’s ability to hit the ground running is paramount for a Patriots team looking to rebuild around their young quarterback, Drake Maye.
During Organized Team Activities (OTAs), Campbell has already been diligently working at left tackle, drawing praise from offensive line coach Doug Marrone. Marrone highlighted Campbell’s strong work ethic and dedication to refining the details and fundamentals of his game. The consistent reps he’s receiving against the Patriots’ defense during these early practices are seen as invaluable for his development.
With Campbell’s contract finalized, the Patriots have now signed the majority of their 2025 draft class. The only remaining unsigned rookies are second-round running back TreVeyon Henderson and fourth-round safety Craig Woodson, though reports suggest their deals are also nearing completion.
The signing of Campbell represents more than just a formality; it signifies the Patriots’ commitment to protecting their future. As the team embarks on a new era, securing a talent like Campbell at a premium position is a foundational piece of their long-term strategy. All eyes will be on Campbell as he transitions to the NFL, with the hope that he’ll anchor the left side of the Patriots’ offensive line for years to come, providing the stability needed for a successful rebuild.
