The Patriots released their preseason schedule on Thursday. They will be hosting the Houston Texans on August 10th and will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers on August 19th. The preseason wraps on August 25th with a visit to the Tennessee Titans.

The Patriots are reportedly doing joint practices with the Packers. There has also been speculation that they might do joint practices with the Titans as well. That would make sense given the fact that Mike Vrabel is the coach in Tennessee.
The entire dynamic of the pre-season has changed with the new schedule. Now most of your veterans are playing in the second game and that’s it. The first and third preseason games are reserved for depth guys and rookies.
It will be interesting to see how the Patriots divide up playing time in these games. With Bill O’Brien coming in to run the offense, we might see more of the starters in these games than usual. It will ultimately depend on where the team is in their install.
Either way, it should be another great summer of training camp football and preseason action.
