Game Rewind: The Patriots cruised to a 41-3 win against a Jets team that never got off the bus. With the win, the Patriots remained the number one seed in the AFC.
Here are five thoughts on the game.
1. Complete Dominance: The Patriots dominated this game from start to finish. The Jets were never in this game. It was a dominant performance from start to finish for the Patriots.
2. Defense Dominates: The Patriots defensive dominance continued as the league’s number one scoring defense held the Jets to just 237 yards total offense today.
The Jets had a couple of decent drives but they never really threatened to score a touchdown in this game.
The Patriots finished with three interceptions and two sacks on the day.
3. Brady Strengthens His MVP Case: Tom Brady was once again great today and he strengthened his case to be the league MVP. Brady finished 17/27 for 214 yards and 3 touchdown passes.
Brady shredded the Jets and continued his mastery over them.
4. Floyd Debut Was Meh: Michael Floyd made his much anticipated debut. He was O.K. Nothing to get excited about. Floyd finished with one catch for 6 yards and he was targeted twice.
You have to figure that Floyd will be a bigger part of the game plan moving forward but he left a lot to be desired today.
5. Belichick Wins #200: Bill Belichick won his 200th game as the head coach of the Patriots today. The way things are going, Belichick will probably coach another 3 years or so and pick up another 50 wins before he retires.
Belichick is one of only five coaches to have 200 wins with one organization.
