The Patriots have had a busy couple of days ahead of next week’s opener at Miami.
The team signed former Dolphins wide receiver Lynn Bowden to their practice squad on Thursday after he was released by the Dolphins.

Bowden was originally a 2021 third round of the Raiders but was traded to the Dolphins prior to last season for a fourth round pick.
The Raiders tried making Bowden a running back. After Bowden balked at the idea, he was traded to the Dolphins who moved him back to receiver.
Bowden missed all of last season with injury but he is versatile player who played direct snap quarterback, running back and receiver at Kentucky. He is very similar to current Patriots running back Ty Montgomery in terms of stature and style.
It is too early to tell if we’ll ever see Bowden in a Patriots uniform. There are a lot of talented receivers in front of him on the roster and he may ultimately be better suited on another team if he wants to get an opportunity to play on Sundays.
